The Nadal-Djokovic Rivalry

It was a five setter, an epic tennis match in which both men trying their best to outwit, outlast and outplayed their opponent. A grand slam tennis match between Nadal and Djokovic doesn’t disappoint all tennis fans. A battle not just only of skills; it is also a physical and mental battle that pushes both guys to the limit. The most impressive part was that even thought they were playing for more than 4 hours, both men were still able to hit beautiful shots and angled winners down the lines. Eventually, Nadal came on top this time beating Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-7, 9-7 in 4 hours and 37 minutes.                When the match was unfolding, I have a sudden thought that the process of the match developed almost identical as the final of the 2012 Australia Open. Djokovic won that match 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 in 5 hours 53 minutes. At that time, Djokovic was serving for the match in th...

My High School Education

It had been a few years since I graduated from high school. As most of your parents might tell you, your high school life is probably one of the best times of your life. Now, I truly felt that way. My high school life was indeed the best time of my life. High school was probably the best part of most teenagers’ life and also the crucial part of a person’s development in the future. How well you developed the skills required? Did you equip yourself with the knowledge required? Are you able to master the skills of communicating well in any language? What are the other skills you obtained outside of the classroom?                These are the parts and pieces that make you who you are right now. Sadly, the current Malaysia education system that is in placed doesn’t really answer all these questions well. When I mentioned the term “education system”,...

The Badminton World Needs Changes

Badminton World Federation, the international governing of body of  badminton.  The body currently has 169 members around the world. The governing body's headquarters is based at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Badminton, the fastest racquet sport in the world holds the fastest smashing speed of up to 421km/h. It’s a sport played by at least two opposing players or pairs. Players are required to strike the shuttlecock and land it on the ground of the opponents in order to score one point. Countries like China, Korea, Denmark, Malaysia and Indonesia are the traditional powerhouses in the sport. But the sport needs some serious changes. It’s sad for me to see one of my favorite sports is going downhill. Everybody including organizations, players and coaches need to change. After that infamous incident at the recent Olympics, word says that badminton is at risk of being kicked out of the Olympics. Well, I think badminton isn’t really that “at risk”, but certainly one of t...

Talent or Money?

*It has been a long time since I posted on this blog. Since this is my very first post of 2013, I wish everybody having a great year ahead in 2013! (By the way, screwed those Mayans who say that the world will end) The judging panel and host of the singing talent show The Voice (Top) and The X Factor(Below). (Top): Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Sheldon and Carson Daly. (Below): L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell.  Whether you are a fan of any talent show, here comes a big question for the producers. Are you guys really interested in searching a new talent or interested in making your pocket richer? On TV, I could say all of them will say the former one, but backstage I’m sure many will pick the later answer. Whether you are a fan of The Voice, American Idol, The X Factor, Got Talent or even Dancing with the Stars, there’s one fact you can't deny, that is the more frequent you turn on your TV to watch these shows, the more mon...

The Race Around The World

The logo of The Amazing Race.  “You are team number one!” Yes, I’m talking about The Amazing Race, the race around the world. The show is already more than ten years old and still standing strong as one of my favorite show. In the latest season-Season 21, a team has the chance to win $2 million, that’s a first in the series history. Teams racing across the world, encounter many challengers, enduring the different weather in different countries, fighting to win the enormous prize money that is offered. Different version of the show appears after the success of the US version; this includes an Asia, Brazil and China version of the show. The one thing that I’m impressed with the show is the fact that we see different views or angles of the race from different sets of cameras. I’m not sure how many cameras are there when they are filming, but definitely the filming crew is a huge team. It takes a lot of time to edit the scenes that are captured by multiple sets of camera. W...

Beijing's "China-Big" Mega-Airport

With a massive of population of 1.3 billion people, you know the Chinese always need big facilities to accommodate such large amount of people living in the country. Despite the Chinese government’s effort to control its population, China’s population is expected to hit the 1.4 billion mark in a few years’ time. Beijing Capital Airport, Asia’s busiest airport had already exceeded the airport’s capacity of 75 million passengers per year. Therefore, a new airport is definitely on the cards given the enormous wealth of the Chinese government generated by the country’s positive economic growth in these few years. The second main airport (third in total) in Beijing will locate in the southern part of Beijing in the district of Daxing. The distance from the city center to the planned area is about 30km. A high-speed bullet train has been planned to transport passengers from the planned airport to the city center in 30 minutes time. The size of the airport is almost 7.5km each side....

It's More Than Just A Debate

The first of the three debates between Obama and Romney was held at Denver on 3 October 2012. I watched the first full debate between two US Presidential candidates for the upcoming US Presidential Election yesterday via youtube. A debate about policies, leadership and new, collective ideas between the current President, The Democratic Party representative-Barack Obama and former Massachusetts governor, The Republican Party candidate-Mitt Romney. They will be debating again on October 16 at New York and October 22 at Florida.  There’s another debate between their running mates which is the vice-presidency debate on October 11, between Joe Biden (Current Vice President, Democratic candidate) and Paul Ryan (Congressman, Republican candidate). First and foremost, I would like to say as a non-US citizens, I have no right to comment on who’s policies or ideas is better or who is the better person to lead US for the next 4 years. But, to be honest, I thought Romney was the one...
